Israeli Comedian Tom Ya'ar Celebrates 39th Birthday with Decade of Trailblazing Comedy

Tom Ya'ar, a prominent Israeli comedian and creator known for her unfiltered humor, celebrates her 39th birthday on Tuesday. Raised in Ramat Hasharon, she spent part of her adolescence at the Kibbutz Kfar Hayarok boarding school, an experience that later inspired her hit documentary-reality series "Tom Ya'ar Does Bagrut."

In 2011, Ya'ar founded the Tel Aviv alternative comedy scene with her "Tom Ya'ar Standup Night," showcasing young comedians like Galit Chugi and Nir Majer. Her breakthrough solo show "Angel's Joke" debuted in 2013, solidifying her reputation for blending fantasy and raw honesty. She joined the cast of the popular Israeli satire show "Eretz Nehederet" in 2017, creating memorable characters such as Assi the biology teacher.
