Israeli Journalist Akiva Novick Celebrates 38th Birthday with Surprising Career Highlights

Akiva Novick, a well-known Israeli journalist and presenter on Kan 11's "Night News," celebrates his 38th birthday on August 16, 2026. Born in Jerusalem in 1988 and raised in the West Bank settlement of Ofra, Novick's early education included studies at the Hesfin Yeshiva in the Golan Heights and a pre-military academy in Peduel before his IDF service.

Novick began his media career in 2007 during his army service at Galei Tzahal, where he worked as a military correspondent and producer. After his discharge, he joined the newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, initially covering the West Bank and Haredi communities before transitioning to political reporting. In 2015, he became the parliamentary correspondent for Channel 10 News, continuing in this role after the channel's merger into Channel 13.

In November 2019, Novick added the middle name "Raoul" in honor of Raoul Wallenberg, the Swedish diplomat who saved thousands of Jews during the Holocaust. In August 2020, he appeared on the Israeli version of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" winning 125,000 shekels. Since 2021, he has served as a Eurovision commentator alongside Assaf Lieberman and co-hosted the Independence Day torch-lighting ceremony broadcast.
