Israeli Actor Yaniv Biton Celebrates 48th Birthday with Highlights from Career and Personal Life
Yaniv Biton, an Israeli actor and comedian, celebrates his 48th birthday today. Born in Jerusalem and raised in Maale Adumim, Biton served in the elite Unit 8200 of the Israeli Intelligence Corps, where his proficiency in Arabic earned him an extended service of a year and a half. After his military service, he studied acting at Beit Zvi School for the Performing Arts, graduating in 2004 with several excellence scholarships.
Biton began his career on stage, performing in leading Israeli theaters such as Cameri, Beit Lessin, Tzavta, and the Library Theater. Since 2014, he has been a key cast member of the satirical television show "HaYehudim Ba'im" (The Jews Are Coming), portraying numerous memorable characters. He is also renowned for his impersonations on the popular comedy show "Eretz Nehederet," where he has mimicked public figures including Aryeh Deri, Avishay Ben Haim, Ayala Hasson, Yuli Edelstein, and Niv Gelboa.
In 2019, Biton won the Israeli Academy of Television Award for Best Actor in a Children and Youth Series for his role in "Yaldei Beit Ha'etz" (Children of the Treehouse). Beyond acting and comedy, he ventured into television hosting in 2025 with the documentary series "Take a Number" on Kan 11, demonstrating his versatility. Biton has also appeared in various children and youth programs such as "HaKlamrim," "Yaldei Beit Ha'etz," and "Beit HaKlavim."
On a personal note, Biton came out publicly at age 20 and has been open about his life journey. Since 2006, he has lived with his partner Avi Tayari, whom he married in the United States in 2016. The couple are parents to twins born through surrogacy.
