Israel Informs US of Iran Moving Thousands of Centrifuges to Secret Fordow Nuclear Site

Israel has informed the United States that Iran has transferred thousands of centrifuges to its secret underground nuclear site at Fordow, near Natanz. The site, buried up to 600 meters deep in granite rock, has never been inspected by International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors because Iran has not declared it as a uranium enrichment facility. Western intelligence suspects the site is used for uranium enrichment, while Iran claims it is for manufacturing and assembling centrifuges.

The intelligence was reportedly shared following Israel's June 2025 "With the Lion" operation, which targeted Iran's three main nuclear sites. Satellite images in recent weeks have shown ongoing activity near the tunnel entrances at Fordow, despite previous US and Israeli strikes on Iran's nuclear infrastructure in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan.

US President Donald Trump recently warned that Fordow could be a target for a US strike, describing it as "a possible target for one big, beautiful, fat hit right on the front doorstep." The site’s extreme depth makes it one of the most difficult targets for aerial attacks. The revelation heightens concerns about Iran’s nuclear ambitions and the potential for increased military action in the region.
