Religious Zionism Party Closes Primaries Registration With Several Candidates Confirmed

The Religious Zionism party is set to close registration for its upcoming primaries at midnight on Tuesday. The primaries will determine the party's candidate list for the Knesset, with nearly 200 party central committee members voting to select the final slate. Several current Knesset members have already submitted their candidacies, including Ohad Tal, Tzvi Sukkot, Michal Waldiger, Orit Strook, and Simcha Rothman.

In addition to these incumbents, other candidates have entered the race, such as Eitan Tam, a city council member from Rosh HaAyin and party central committee member; Rabbi Shmuel Sasson, a leader of the Hader core group and central committee member; and Tzvika Wishengrad, deputy mayor of Petah Tikva and central committee member. Sources within the party also revealed that Omer Rahams, CEO of the Yesha Council, is expected to join the contest.

Meanwhile, there is internal pressure on Yehuda Wald, the party's CEO, to run in the primaries as well. The registration deadline will mark the final list of candidates who will compete for the trust of the party's central committee members in the upcoming vote.
