Apple Launches iOS 27 Beta With Major Speed Improvements for Older iPhones
Apple has released the public beta version of iOS 27, focusing on significant performance enhancements designed to speed up iPhone operations and improve user experience, especially for older devices. The update includes over 30 optimizations aimed at making the device faster, smoother, and more efficient in daily tasks. Key improvements include up to 30% faster app launches, up to 70% quicker loading of new photos in the Photos app, and up to 80% faster file transfers via AirDrop. Additional optimizations target camera launch times when the battery is low, Safari browser loading speeds, and connectivity for Apple Music and Home services.
The new iOS 27 will be available for iPhone 11 and later models. Apple highlighted that performance gains were measured on the iPhone 11 Pro Max, comparing iOS 26.4.2 with iOS 27, showing notable improvements even on relatively older hardware. Alongside speed enhancements, Apple is continuing to develop and upgrade the Siri voice assistant, as well as fixing bugs and improving system stability. Currently, iOS 27 is accessible only to developers and public beta testers, with a full public release expected this fall.
