Apple Opens Public Beta of iOS 27 Ahead of September Launch
Apple has made the public beta version of iOS 27 available to all users, ahead of the official release scheduled for September. Previously, the beta was primarily accessible only to developers through the Developer Beta program. Now, regular users can join Apple's beta program and install the update on supported devices, which include the iPhone SE 3rd generation and iPhone 11 models and newer.
Early reports indicate that the initial beta versions of iOS 27 demonstrate relatively high stability, but as a trial release, users may still encounter bugs or issues. Apple advises users to perform a full backup of their devices before installing the beta, recommending backups both to iCloud and to a computer. This precaution is important because reverting from the beta to a stable version may require erasing and reinstalling the device.
To install the public beta, users must enroll through Apple's beta website. Once enrolled, they can update their device by navigating to Settings, then General, followed by Software Update, and selecting iOS 27 Public Beta under Beta Updates.
