Israeli Police Classify West Bank Gilad Farm Fire as Hostile Act, Promising Compensation

The Israeli police have officially recognized the recent severe fire at Gilad Farm in the West Bank as an act of hostility. Yossi Dagan, head of the Shomron Regional Council, informed residents that the Samaria District Police concluded there is reasonable cause to believe the damage was caused by a hostile act. This classification enables affected residents to receive compensation and property tax relief as victims of such acts.

Dagan conveyed that joint investigations by the police, fire and rescue services, and local authorities confirmed the hostile nature of the arson. He encouraged residents to seek assistance from community police officers for any issues related to the incident. Dagan also assured that government and public funding will support the rehabilitation and rebuilding of Gilad Farm, promising it will emerge larger and better equipped.

Earlier, Dagan praised the Israeli Police, Border Police, and Shomron Brigade for arresting two Arab suspects linked to the arson. He called on all authorities to end the ongoing violence and emphasized the need for immediate government intervention to restore infrastructure and homes destroyed in the fire. Dagan expressed confidence that Gilad Farm will grow stronger, driven by its Zionist spirit and close-knit community.

The police designation as a hostile act marks a significant step in securing state support for the community's recovery following the devastating fire, which fortunately did not result in loss of life but caused substantial damage.
