Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich Welcomes New Grandchild Amid Family Recovery

Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, 46, took a rare moment from his busy schedule on Sunday to celebrate a deeply emotional family milestone. Smotrich reunited with his newborn grandson, the second child of his eldest son, Benaya, and daughter-in-law Tamar. This joyful occasion comes months after Benaya was severely wounded in combat in Lebanon about four months ago. The family returned to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital, where Benaya had been treated, this time to embrace the newborn rather than for medical reasons. Smotrich shared the moment on Instagram, expressing gratitude and relief: "Benaya was seriously injured just a few months ago, and thank God we got him back miraculously." He praised Tamar and Benaya as heroes and expressed happiness for the family. Smotrich and his wife Revital have seven children, and this marks their second grandchild, following their first grandson born about two years ago to Benaya.
