Hapoel Jerusalem Negotiates With Forward David Roddy After Initial Offer Rejected

Hapoel Jerusalem is actively working in the transfer market to strengthen its roster for the upcoming basketball season. The club is currently in negotiations with 25-year-old forward David Roddy, who was selected 23rd overall in the 2022 NBA Draft. Jerusalem initially offered Roddy a two-year contract worth approximately $2.2 million, but the forward declined the proposal. The team continues discussions in hopes of reaching an agreement that will bring Roddy to Israel.

David Roddy was drafted by Philadelphia but struggled to secure a stable position in the NBA. After the draft, he was traded to Memphis, where he alternated between the main team and the G League, averaging 6.7 points and 2.8 rebounds in the NBA and 20.5 points, 4 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in the G League. He later played for Phoenix, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Houston, and most recently Denver, where he averaged 8 points and 4 rebounds over five games last season. Overall, Roddy has appeared in 181 NBA games, averaging 6.3 points (42.4% shooting, 30% from three, 69.3% free throws), 2.9 rebounds, and 1 assist per game.
