US Forces Face Four Iranian Attacks in Five Days in Jordan Amid Rising Regional Tensions

American military officials revealed that Iran launched four separate attacks against US forces in Jordan within a span of five days, culminating in a deadly strike on Friday that killed two American soldiers and left another missing. These attacks targeted key US military bases in Jordan, which has become a critical hub for American forces following the relocation of troops from Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar due to security concerns and regional restrictions.

The first attack struck a residential building at King Faisal Airbase, injuring approximately five US soldiers. The second targeted a base in eastern Jordan housing US Black Hawk helicopters, causing significant damage to several aircraft. Two days ago, Iranian missiles hit the Muwaffaq al-Salti Airbase in Azraq, wounding about 20 soldiers who sought shelter without fatalities. The latest assault on Friday again hit the Azraq base, resulting in two American deaths, four injuries, and additional soldiers treated for minor wounds.

Pentagon sources emphasized Jordan's growing strategic importance as other US allies in the region have limited the deployment of American troops and aircraft from their territories. The escalation underscores the heightened tensions between the US and Iran in the Middle East and the challenges facing American military operations in the area.
