Israeli Poet and Israel Prize Winner Israel Pincas Dies at 91

Israel Pincas, the acclaimed Israeli poet and recipient of the Israel Prize in 2005, passed away at the age of 91. Over his extensive career, Pincas translated books and plays, edited publications for Am Oved and Sifriat Poalim, managed two art galleries in Tel Aviv, and wrote about Israeli art in the press. From the 1980s onward, he also served as an advisor and expert on 20th-century art after completing studies in literature and art in London and Paris.

Pincas began publishing poetry in the early 1950s, with his first poetry collection, "Fourteen Poems," released in 1961. He went on to publish several notable poetry books, including "Dinner in Ferrara and Other Poems," "To the Equator," and "Inside the House." He is survived by two daughters, Daniela and Michal.
