Israeli Tourists Attacked with Axes and Knives in Northern Mongolia
A group of Israeli tourists was violently attacked by a group of Muslims of Kazakh origin while camping in northern Mongolia on Monday. The assailants shouted anti-Semitic slurs including "Heil Hitler" and "Get out of here" during the assault. The Israeli group, consisting of three men and three women on a caravan trip, faced a brutal attack involving knives and axes. One Israeli defended himself with a glass bottle, another subdued an attacker with a knife, and a third was punched in the face, resulting in a broken jaw. With help from a local driver, the Israelis managed to leave the scene. The injured tourist was flown back to Israel for medical treatment. One of the victims told Kan News that the attack was clearly motivated by anti-Semitism. Following the incident, the group contacted the Israeli embassy in China, which also covers Mongolia, and received ongoing support from embassy staff and the ambassador.
