Israeli Tourists Assaulted in Montenegro Amid Anti-Israel Shouts
A group of Israelis from the Gaza envelope area were violently attacked on Saturday night in Budva, Montenegro, according to a report by Kan News on Thursday. One of the victims recounted that while sitting on the beach promenade, four foreigners approached and asked where they were from. After revealing they were Israeli, the attackers shouted insults including 'Fuck Israel' and 'Free Palestine' before assaulting them. The group initially remained silent, but the attackers returned with 10 to 15 young men aged 20-21, who began verbally abusing and threatening them.
The victims described being physically assaulted with cigarette burns, kicks, thrown chairs, and punches. They tried to flee, but some were forced to the ground and beaten. Three individuals were missing after the attack; one suffered a broken jaw and underwent surgery, another sustained severe head injuries, and one fainted. Women in the group were also verbally harassed. Despite the presence of police, who told them they were disturbing neighbors, no intervention occurred. The victims fled to a Chabad house and then to a hospital. The Israeli embassy arranged early flights for the group, though one remains hospitalized post-surgery.
The victim described the ordeal as feeling like a lynching and expressed fear for their lives. This incident follows a recent report of an Italian mayor receiving a threatening letter with a bullet, warning against hosting Israelis, highlighting rising tensions and threats against Israeli communities abroad.
