Maccabi Haifa Falls Behind in Race to Sign Ukrainian Winger Oleksiy Hutsulyak
Oleksiy Hutsulyak, the 28-year-old Ukrainian winger and former Polissya Zhytomyr player, remains a free agent with several clubs vying for his signature. Despite reports linking Maccabi Haifa to the player, his agent, Ola Abdysh, confirmed that the Israeli club could not match the financial offers Hutsulyak has received from other teams. Turkish club Kocaelispor is reportedly pushing hard to finalize a deal, with two additional advanced offers coming from clubs in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Abdysh also mentioned interest from other Turkish teams including Konyaspor and Corum, as well as an unnamed Turkish club.
The agent clarified that the most concrete offers are from Turkey, while Anderlecht and Maccabi Haifa were also in the running but fell short financially. Since Hutsulyak holds his player card, the final decision on his next destination rests solely with him. Currently, the player is training individually while awaiting an offer that meets his expectations. The financial gap appears to have sidelined Maccabi Haifa from securing the winger at this stage. No official responses have been released by Maccabi Haifa regarding the situation.
