Maccabi Haifa Women Launch Basketball Excellence Academy to Develop Future Athletes

Maccabi Haifa Women’s Basketball team inaugurated a new Excellence Academy on July 26, 2026, aiming to nurture the next generation of female athletes in Israel. This pioneering project in northern Israel is a collaboration between Maccabi Haifa Women’s Basketball and the Hebrew Reali School in Haifa. The academy offers young girls a comprehensive program that combines academic excellence with professional sports training, including medical and mental support, personalized development plans, and leadership training.

The initiative is designed to enable young sportswomen to reach high athletic levels without compromising their education. Ilan Bak, a representative of Maccabi Haifa Women, emphasized the academy’s clear statement about the importance of women’s sports in Israel. Culture and Sports Minister Miki Zohar praised the academy’s opening, highlighting Israel’s commitment to investing in women’s sports and creating equal opportunities for young female athletes nationwide.
