Woman Says She Woke Up While He Was Sexually Assaulting Her: Complaint Against Suspected Rapist Guru Levi

Police are investigating a rape suspicion against Gur Levi, who is also suspected of filming women in changing stalls. A young woman alleged that Levi carried out a sexual act against her will after a night at his home. The complainant said, "I felt that he was carrying out a sexual act on me, even though I said I didn't want to."

Police are also examining a suspicion that a rape drug was used during the incident. Levi was arrested today after police published his photo and asked the public for help. The court extended the suspect's detention.

The suspect, who filmed women in changing stalls in Tel Aviv, is now also being investigated on suspicion of rape, after a young woman who complained against Gur Levi said that after spending time together at his home, she felt dizzy, and in the morning hours woke up while he was performing a sexual act on her against her will. According to the complainant's testimony, Levi, 25, from Tel Aviv, came to the pub where she worked, bought her an alcoholic drink, and later persuaded her to come to his home. In her testimony to police, she said that afterward she felt unwell and dizzy. "I felt bad," she described, "and in the morning hours I felt that he was carrying out a sexual act on me, although I said it hurt and I didn't want it."

At today's hearing on the extension of his detention in court, a police representative described the sequence of events as it emerged from the complainant's investigation. According to him, after she arrived at the suspect's home, the two continued drinking, and she said her condition deteriorated later in the evening. Investigators are also examining a suspicion that a rape drug was used, although the findings of the tests have not yet been published.

According to police, after leaving the suspect's home, the complainant consulted with people close to her. Later, fearing she had been harmed or infected with a disease, she went to Ichilov Hospital for medical tests. Investigators took her statement and continue to gather evidence as part of the investigation.

The new complaint was received after police published Levi's photo and asked the public for help in locating him. Until then, he was suspected of filming women in changing stalls at a store in the TLV Mall in Tel Aviv. The case began after a social media star said she noticed a man filming her while she was changing clothes in a fitting room. Following her complaint, an investigation was opened, and later a similar additional complaint was received.

After police published the suspect's details and photo, additional calls were received that led, among other things, to the rape complaint. Levi was arrested this morning in the Yarkon District after being located based on information received from the public. Police believe he knew he was being sought but did not turn himself in. After his interrogation, he was detained, and today the court extended his arrest.

Police suspect there may be additional women who were harmed by the suspect and have not yet contacted authorities. Investigators continue to examine all complaints and collect additional testimony, and are checking whether there is a connection between the cases under investigation.

Levi denies the allegations against him. His attorney, Shir Aharonson, said, "The investigation is in its initial stages, and I believe that as it progresses and the full evidentiary foundation is examined, a completely different picture will emerge from the one currently reflected. At such an early stage, it is necessary to refrain from judging him based on suspicions alone and to respect the presumption of innocence that applies to him."
