Israeli Basketball Association Appoints Four New Disciplinary Court Judges in Reform Drive
The Israeli Basketball Association continues its reform of the disciplinary courts by appointing four new judges to replace the outgoing members. This move is part of a broader renewal process led by Association Chairman Amos Frishman and Supreme Court President Professor Oded Modrik, aiming to professionalize and modernize the disciplinary system.
After many years of voluntary service, the four former disciplinary judges, Advocates Tagar Amiel, Tzvika Roizen, Eli Levin, and Ezra Hausner, have stepped down. The new judges, Advocates Gadi Zilberberg, Lior Boner, Amir Pava, and Yishai Zilberberg, have undergone an extensive handover period alongside their predecessors to ensure knowledge transfer and maintain professional continuity.
This transition also includes other reforms such as conducting some disciplinary hearings via Zoom and updating the association’s regulations. Chairman Amos Frishman expressed deep appreciation for the outgoing judges’ dedication and professionalism and wished the new judges success, emphasizing their role in upholding fairness and sportsmanship in Israeli basketball.
