Maccabi Netanya Targets Sheffield Winger Christian Novacko for Signing
Maccabi Netanya is reportedly interested in signing Christian Novacko, a 28-year-old winger currently contracted to Sheffield United. Novacko spent the last season on loan at Bulgarian club Botv Plovdiv, where he scored four goals and provided two assists. Sheffield United acquired him for 1.2 million euros, and his contract runs through the 2026/27 season. Known for his speed and technical skills, Novacko has also scored in the UEFA Europa League qualifiers.
The club's new owner, Ross Kastin, aims to recruit young players with potential for future development, following a strategy similar to last summer's signings. Novacko, although 28, fits the profile of a technically skilled player who could contribute immediately. So far this summer, Maccabi Netanya has signed Samo Silva, Alon Azugi, Dor Hugi, Grigory Morozov, and Nadav Nidam. Meanwhile, Wilson Harris, Li-On Mizrahi, Heriberto Tavares, Li-Yam Dan, Louis Chiluf, Maksim Plakuschenko, and Yuval Sade have departed the club.
This potential acquisition reflects Maccabi Netanya's ongoing efforts to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming Israeli Premier League season.
