Chabad Organization Honors Dr. Ira Weiss for Care of Rebbe with Special Ceremony
Dr. Ira Weiss captivated attendees with rare memories from his time at the holy residence of the Rebbe. The event featured speeches by Rabbi Meir Ashkenazi, the chief rabbi of Kfar Chabad, and Rabbi Menachem Mendel Gluchovsky, deputy secretary of the Chabad Rabbinical Court. This special occasion also included a medical conference for doctors from the Chabad community, led by Dr. Tal Nir. Spontaneous participation came from rabbis, public figures, and Chabad emissaries, notably Rabbi Menachem Mendel Wolpa from Netanya, Rabbi Yosef Shmuel Gerlitzky, chief rabbi of central Tel Aviv-Jaffa, and Rabbi Pinchas Frenkel, chief rabbi of the Ministry of Health.
A particularly moving moment occurred at the event's conclusion when Rabbi Levi Mendelzon, director of Lev Chabad, and Rabbi Leyzer Katz, the organization's medical advisor, presented Dr. Weiss with a model of the 770 building as a lasting memento. The ceremony was documented through photographs provided by the event's photographer.
