A masked assailant breached the tight security of the Blue luxury residential complex in north Tel Aviv late Saturday night and threw a fragmentation grenade into the building's lobby. The explosion caused damage but no injuries, leaving residents, including prominent businessmen and celebrities like singer Noa Kirel, shocked and fearful. One resident expressed dismay, saying they purchased their apartment for peace and quality of life but now fear becoming victims of criminal disputes.

Following the blast around 11 p.m., large police forces from the Yarkon district arrived to collect evidence and review security footage to track the suspect's escape route. Authorities currently have no indication that any specific resident was directly targeted. Police are also investigating possible links between this incident and a similar grenade attack in south Tel Aviv the previous day.

The attack reflects an alarming expansion of organized crime violence into affluent northern neighborhoods. Just two weeks prior, security footage captured a motorcycle assassin chasing and shooting at a known criminal riding an electric scooter in the nearby Gush Hagadol neighborhood, resulting in moderate injuries. Police in Tel Aviv continue to probe these violent episodes, describing them as isolated events under control but acknowledging the growing brazenness of criminal elements.

Residents worry that some criminals have moved into luxury towers, while others come to settle scores or intimidate businessmen. The recent surge in violent crime underscores the challenges facing law enforcement in containing organized crime's reach into upscale areas of the city.
