First Report: The coalition MK in talks with Yoaz Hendel

Contacts are taking place between Yoaz Hendel and the Reservists Party and MK Moshe Solomon of Religious Zionism. MK Moshe Solomon’s vote last night against his faction’s position on the Basic Law, Torah Study, is raising questions in the political system about the possibility of prior coordination with figures outside the coalition, בראשם Yoaz Hendel. Moshe Solomon’s decision to act last night in violation of faction discipline fits closely with the positions advanced in the Reservists Party, and there was indeed satisfaction there with the move. Now the possibility is being examined that Solomon’s step was not spontaneous, but the result of talks held with the chairman of the Reservists Party, Yoaz Hendel, even before the vote.

There is a clear and active line of communication between Solomon and Hendel: Solomon’s current adviser previously worked as an adviser to Hendel, and in practice serves as a liaison between the two sides. In the past, meetings have already been held between Solomon and Hendel dealing with issues related to the activity of the Reservists Party, which strengthens the assessment that the communication channel between them is open in order to form an alliance in the future. Moshe Solomon has already said on this issue in the past that he does not rule out running in another Zionist party.

MK Moshe Solomon said in response: “As I have said to everyone who asks, I am part of Religious Zionism.”

From the Reservists Party led by Yoaz Hendel it was said: “Our mission is to make sure a Zionist government is formed without the Haredi and Arab parties, with worthy leadership. We are doing everything to make that happen, and to make sure the space we are in will be as effective as possible.”
