Motorcyclist Killed Near Kiryat Gat in Road Accident Involving Car
A 25-year-old female motorcyclist died Saturday in a collision with a car near the Kiryat Gat interchange on Highway 35. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene after sustaining severe injuries. The car driver, a woman around 35 years old, was moderately injured, and another person suffered minor injuries; both were taken to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon by Magen David Adom (MDA) teams.
The accident was reported at 15:46 to MDA's emergency center in the Lachish region. Paramedics at the scene found the motorcyclist unconscious and without vital signs, confirming her death after medical checks. Additional MDA teams treated and evacuated the injured car occupants.
Separately, a fatal car crash occurred overnight on Highway 6 near Tayibe, killing 20-year-old Alyaa Ali Menad from Lod, who was engaged to be married soon. Her fiancé, who was in the car with her, was injured. Eyewitnesses reported the accident happened during a race between drivers. MDA teams declared Menad dead at the scene and evacuated two other injured individuals to Beilinson and Meir hospitals. Police traffic investigators have opened an inquiry into the multi-vehicle crash in the Central District.
