Motorcyclist Sunny Shattel Dies in Crash on Road 35 Near Kiryat Gat
Sunny Shattel, a 26-year-old motorcyclist from Rosh HaAyin and a well-known content creator in Israel's motorcycle community, died in a traffic accident on Road 35 near Kiryat Gat on Saturday. Shattel, who had hundreds of thousands of social media followers, was passionate about motorcycles, especially heavy bikes, as reflected in her Instagram posts. The fatal crash involved three vehicles: a truck, a private car, and Shattel's motorcycle, occurring near the Nahusha and Beit Guvrin junctions.
The Magen David Adom emergency call was received at 15:46 in the Lachish region. Paramedics Adel Hamias and Moshe Oref reported finding Shattel unconscious, without pulse or breathing, with severe injuries, and pronounced her dead at the scene. Two other women were injured in the accident, one moderately and the other lightly, and were taken to the hospital.
This incident marks the second loss of a prominent female motorcyclist in Israel's heavy motorcycle community within six months. In February, Nicole Delugin, also 26 and from Kfar Saba, died in a road accident and was similarly recognized among motorcycle enthusiasts nationwide.
