Maccabi Tel Aviv Nears Signing Slovenian Striker Aster Sokler from Serbian League
Maccabi Tel Aviv is close to finalizing the transfer of Slovenian striker Aster Sokler from Serbian top-tier club Radnicki, according to reports from Serbia on July 10, 2026. After recent negotiation difficulties, only minor details remain to be resolved between the Israeli club and Sokler's current team. The Israeli cup holders are expected to pay around one million euros for the 26-year-old forward.
Sokler made his debut for the Slovenian national team about a month ago and is valued at approximately 1.5 million euros by Transfermarkt. Despite Radnicki having a difficult season overall, Sokler delivered a strong personal performance, scoring 15 league goals in 29 appearances and playing a key role in helping the club avoid relegation.
Sokler began his career in Slovenia before transferring to Scottish club Aberdeen in summer 2023 for 350,000 euros. After two seasons in Scotland, where he scored 12 goals in 72 matches, he was loaned to Radnicki last summer and then permanently transferred for 225,000 euros in the winter. Following his successful season in Serbia, he is now poised to move to the Israeli Premier League with Maccabi Tel Aviv.
