Hapoel Petah Tikva midfielder Karim Kimwidi was involved in a minor car accident on July 9 while on his way to the team's friendly match against Hapoel Rishon LeZion. Kimwidi sustained no serious injuries and only required light medical treatment. The match, held at Rishon LeZion's training ground, ended in a 0-0 draw.

This was Hapoel Petah Tikva's first preseason game of the season. The starting lineup included players such as Omer Peretz, Omer Katz, Avishi Cohen, Ido Tasa, Hamza Hamido (on trial), Yazan Nasser, Boni Amian, Roy David, Guy Badash, Noam Cohen, Tedros Demlash, and Shavit Mazal.
