Trump Ally Mark Levin Criticizes Advisors Over Iran Policy and Calls for Regime Change
Mark Levin, a senior journalist and close associate of former U.S. President Donald Trump, launched a sharp and unprecedented critique against Trump’s inner circle regarding their approach to Iran. Following a major U.S. military strike in Iran, Levin expressed hope that this time the Iranian regime had overstepped and that effective measures would be taken to topple it. He argued that any advisors, generals, or intelligence officials who tell the president that little can be done about Iran should be dismissed and replaced by those with the will and courage to act. Levin invoked Abraham Lincoln’s decisive leadership during the U.S. Civil War as a model for Trump.
Levin then directly attacked Trump’s close environment, suggesting that even Trump himself might need to change his stance. He claimed that based on leaks since the start of the conflict, some individuals do not want the Iranian regime to fall. This criticism reflects Levin’s apparent deep disappointment with Trump’s recent policies and actions. Previously, Levin criticized Qatar’s influence on U.S. national security and Middle East foreign policy, questioning why Qatar is involved in critical negotiations.
Levin also predicted upcoming cuts to funding for U.S. ground forces, questioning the logic of maintaining large ground forces if they are never deployed. He accused the U.S. of not arming the Iranian people and instead strengthening the regime internally with hundreds of billions of dollars and significant concessions, making it nearly impossible to overthrow the regime either from within or through military and economic pressure. Levin lamented that the plight of the Iranian people is no longer even mentioned in U.S. policy discussions.
This series of statements highlights internal tensions and dissatisfaction within Trump’s circle regarding the handling of Iran, with Levin advocating for a more aggressive and decisive approach to regime change.
