Israeli Forces Arrest Second Suspect in Ramla Gang Rape Case

Israeli security forces arrested a second suspect in the gang rape case of a young woman in Ramla. The suspect, a man in his twenties, was apprehended on Tuesday evening in the village of Yatta in the southern Hebron Hills. The arrest was carried out by a joint operation involving fighters from the Gideon Unit of Lahav 433, Ramla police officers, and IDF troops from the Judea Territorial Brigade. Following an intelligence effort that pinpointed the suspect's hiding place, the forces raided several buildings in Yatta to capture him. The suspect was transferred to Ramla police station for interrogation and is scheduled to appear today at the Magistrate's Court in Rishon Lezion, where the police will request an extension of his detention.

The investigation began last week after a report that a young woman was brought to an apartment in Ramla, an area known for housing workers, where she was gang raped under aggravated circumstances by multiple assailants. The first suspect, a Palestinian worker employed in Israel, was arrested over the weekend. Subsequently, investigators from Ramla police and Lahav 433 expanded the inquiry, leading to the identification and arrest of the second suspect. Police stated that the investigation is ongoing and that efforts will continue to locate all individuals involved and bring them to justice.
