Israeli Border Police Neutralize Terrorist Attempting Infiltration at Rachel Crossing
Israeli Border Police forces in the Jerusalem area neutralized a terrorist who attempted to infiltrate Israel through the Rachel Crossing overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday. The assailant approached from Bethlehem in the Etzion Brigade sector and tried to cross into Israeli territory. When unsuccessful, he began throwing stones at security forces stationed at the crossing.
Upon the arrival of the Border Police reinforcements, the terrorist drew a knife and brandished it at the officers. The Border Police acted according to protocol for detaining a suspect, and when the attacker continued to pose a serious threat, they fired at his lower body, wounding and neutralizing him. He was subsequently arrested for further investigation. No security personnel were injured during the incident.
In a related development, two houses were demolished, and a teenager tied himself to a rooftop to prevent the demolition. The Border Police emphasized their commitment to decisively and professionally thwarting all terror threats to protect Israeli civilians and security forces.
