Israeli Border Police Neutralize Knife-Wielding Attacker at Rachel Crossing

During late night hours between Tuesday and Wednesday, Israeli Border Police forces in the Jerusalem area neutralized a Palestinian assailant attempting to infiltrate Israel through the Rachel Crossing near Bethlehem. The attacker initially tried to cross into Israeli territory but, failing to do so, began throwing stones at security personnel stationed at the crossing. Upon the arrival of Border Police reinforcements, the suspect brandished a knife and threatened the soldiers, posing a direct threat to their lives.

Following established arrest protocols and crowd control measures, the Border Police responded with precise gunfire aimed at the lower body of the assailant, effectively neutralizing and detaining him for further investigation. No Israeli security personnel were injured during the incident. The Israel Police spokesperson emphasized that Border Police units will continue their determined and professional efforts to thwart all terror threats and protect the safety of Israeli civilians and security forces. Security operations in the area remain intensified.
