Israeli Border Police Neutralize Knife-Wielding Attacker Near Bethlehem Crossing
During the night, a Palestinian assailant attempted to infiltrate Israel through the Rachel Crossing near Bethlehem, in the Etzion Brigade area. When he failed to cross, he began throwing stones at security forces stationed there. Border Police fighters from the Jerusalem area were dispatched to the scene. Upon their arrival, the attacker drew a knife and threatened the officers. Following the protocol for detaining a suspect, the Border Police fired at the lower body of the assailant after he continued to pose a threat. The attacker was hit, neutralized, and taken into custody for further investigation. No injuries were reported among the security forces. The police stated that the Border Police will continue to act decisively and professionally to thwart any terrorist threats, aiming to protect the security of Israeli civilians and security personnel.
