Gadi Eizenkot Surpasses Netanyahu in Critical Poll for Prime Minister Preference

Political analyst Dudi Hasid discussed his recent poll on Kan 11, highlighting a decline in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's standing. The poll, conducted among voters, asked who they consider most suitable to serve as prime minister. Gadi Eizenkot led with 41% support, narrowly surpassing Netanyahu, who received 40%. Hasid emphasized that the suitability rating for prime minister is a crucial metric for elections and noted that Netanyahu's position is weakening. He attributed part of this decline to Netanyahu's support for the Torah study law and the ongoing constitutional crisis, which Netanyahu believed would strengthen his political bloc but has not improved his standing. Historically, even when Netanyahu's party lost seats, he maintained a lead in prime minister preference, making this shift a significant setback.
