Driver Rescued After Falling 10 Meters in Netaf Quarry Accident
Firefighters and volunteers conducted a complex rescue operation this Monday morning in the Netaf quarry area in Binyamin, where a driver fell approximately ten meters with his vehicle from a steep cliff. The vehicle overturned completely, landing on its roof, and the driver was found injured and trapped inside. Emergency teams arrived promptly and began critical extraction efforts using specialized cutting tools, carefully ensuring the driver's medical safety and the safety of the rescue personnel on the steep slope.
The incident commander, Chief Fire Officer Ezra Emek, described the rescue: "The driver fell directly onto the vehicle's roof from a significant height of ten meters during routine quarry work. Upon arrival, we quickly assessed the situation with medical teams and immediately started extensive rescue operations. These involved heavy hydraulic tools to remove the vehicle doors and create a safe space to extract the driver without worsening his injuries." After the successful rescue, the injured driver received initial medical treatment and was airlifted by helicopter to the hospital due to the severity of his injuries and the difficult terrain access.
