29-Year-Old Driver Rescued After Car Falls 10 Meters in West Bank Quarry
A 29-year-old man was seriously injured Friday morning after his vehicle overturned and fell approximately 10 meters down a cliff at the Netaf quarries in the Benjamin region of the West Bank. Firefighters and volunteers from the Benjamin district arrived at the scene to find the car resting on its roof with the driver trapped inside. They immediately began a complex rescue operation using specialized equipment to safely extricate the driver.
The rescue commander, Chief Fire Officer Ezra Emek, described how they removed the car doors to create space for the extraction. Once freed, the driver was airlifted by helicopter to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem. The incident was reported to Magen David Adom (MDA) at 07:12 near the settlement of Nili. MDA paramedics, working alongside an Israeli Defense Forces medical team, provided emergency care at the scene.
MDA medic Dani Strengles reported that the driver was conscious but with impaired awareness and suffered multiple traumatic injuries. After the coordinated rescue efforts, he was transported in serious condition to the hospital for further treatment. The rescue operation prioritized both the safety of the driver and the emergency teams throughout the challenging extraction process.
