Police Chase in Beersheba Ends with Two Suspects Arrested After Ramming Patrol Car

Over the past weekend, Israeli police conducted a vehicle pursuit in Beersheba targeting suspects believed to be in possession of weapons. The chase occurred as part of the police's "Iron Net" operation, involving officers from the local station, the Counter-Terrorism Unit, and the Southern Border Police. During the pursuit, the suspect rammed a police vehicle. Officers responded with gunfire but no injuries were reported. Both suspects, residents of the nearby community of Tel Sheva, were apprehended and a handgun was found in their vehicle during a subsequent search.

Following their arrest, the suspects were transferred for interrogation, and the Beersheba Magistrate's Court extended their detention until Tuesday at the police's request. This incident is part of ongoing security challenges in the region. Recently, police also discovered four stun grenades in a public garden near the municipal community center in Rahat. A raid in the area uncovered weapon parts, approximately 1,400 bullets, and cash.

The police continue to intensify efforts under the "Iron Net" operation to curb illegal arms possession and related criminal activity in southern Israel.
