Cristiano Ronaldo Sends Personal Video and Signed Jersey to Venezuelan Earthquake Survivor
Andres Miles, a 10-year-old boy from Venezuela who lost his parents and older brother in a devastating earthquake, received a heartfelt surprise from football star Cristiano Ronaldo. After the twin earthquakes destroyed his home in La Guajira on June 24, resulting in the death of his family members and the amputation of his right leg, Andres was hospitalized. While recovering, he asked for a Cristiano Ronaldo sticker to complete his 2026 World Cup Panini album.
Instead of just a sticker, Ronaldo sent a personal video message expressing support and inviting Andres to watch one of his matches live once he feels better. "Hi Andres, how are you? I'm sending you a big hug," Ronaldo said in the video, recorded shortly after helping Portugal qualify for the World Cup round of 16. "I know you're a big fan. When you feel better, I'd love to invite you to watch one of my games and just enjoy it. Sounds good? I'd be happy to meet you. All the best, my friend."
The story reached Real Madrid, where Ronaldo played for nine seasons, prompting club contacts to connect with him. Venezuelan musician Armando Puyo and renowned chef José Andrés visited Andres in the hospital to deliver the video and additional gifts. On social media, Puyo revealed that Ronaldo also sent a signed jersey to Andres, going beyond the initial video and invitation.
This gesture brought hope and joy to a young boy facing immense tragedy, highlighting the global impact of Ronaldo's support beyond the football field.
