Georgina Rodríguez drew attention on Tuesday night when she celebrated Cristiano Ronaldo’s latest World Cup show from home in a way that spread quickly online. The Portuguese star’s partner posted an Instagram story wearing Portugal’s No. 7 shirt and posing in front of the television as Ronaldo celebrated a goal, with no pants on.
Rodríguez and Ronaldo have been together since 2016, when they met in Madrid, and they announced their engagement in August 2025. A prominent figure in fashion and social media, Rodríguez has more than 70 million Instagram followers. Reports say she is expected to travel to the United States later in the tournament to support Ronaldo in person.
On the field, Ronaldo, 41, scored twice and led Portugal to a 5-0 win over Uzbekistan, putting the team in a strong position to reach the knockout stage. The match also made him the first player in history to score at six different World Cups, in 2006, 2010, 2014, 2018, 2022 and 2026.
Ronaldo became the second-oldest scorer in World Cup history, behind Cameroon’s Roger Milla. He said the week leading into the match had been difficult after criticism following Portugal’s 0-0 draw with Congo in the opening round: “It was a hard week, a dark week. It felt like I had retired from football. But I held on, as I always do, because I believe in hard work more than anything else. It was hard, I admit it, but we came back.”
