Ben Gvir appoints new legal adviser to the Israel Police

Superintendent Nahon has served in recent years as the legal adviser to the Israel Prison Service, and previously held key positions in the prosecutions division and at Israel Police headquarters. During his tenure in the Prison Service, he took part in significant moves to strengthen governance in prisons, toughen the conditions of detention for terrorists, and revoke benefits that had been granted to them over the years.

At the ceremony, Minister Ben Gvir said, "I congratulate Eiran Nahon on taking up the post of legal adviser to the Israel Police. Eiran was a central partner in the revolution in the Prison Service, in strengthening governance and in ending the benefits for terrorists. He is one of those people who does not look for why something cannot be done, but how it can be done."

Ben Gvir added that "Nahon will bring professionalism, responsibility and legal advice to the Israel Police that will help officers and commanders carry out their mission for the security of Israel's citizens."
