17-Year-Old Dies From Gunshot Wounds in Haifa Shooting Incident

The Rambam Hospital in Haifa announced on Saturday that 17-year-old Wiam Faisal succumbed to his severe gunshot injuries sustained in a midweek shooting incident in the city. The shooting occurred near a local convenience store by the beach in the Ein HaYam neighborhood, a known site of previous violence. During the incident, 18-year-old Jonathan Khoury, an Arab-Christian resident of the Hadar neighborhood, was killed on the scene, and a third young man remains hospitalized in serious condition.

The event unfolded around midnight when an ambulance driver passing by noticed civilians signaling her to stop. Medical teams arrived to find three men suffering from penetrating gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical efforts, Khoury was pronounced dead at the scene. Faisal was initially treated in the intensive care unit but later died from his injuries. The third victim continues to receive critical care at the hospital.

Medical personnel described the victims as unconscious with severe wounds, noting that one had no pulse or breathing upon their arrival. The shooting has raised concerns due to the location's history of violent incidents. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack.
