Man Assaults Ex-Wife in Front of Children, Leaving Her Bleeding on Floor in Haifa

A 50-year-old man from Haifa has been indicted for severely assaulting his ex-wife in front of their two young children. The incident occurred on Friday, June 26, when the man violently attacked the woman, punching her in the face and chest, kicking her, strangling her multiple times, and forcefully banging her head against a wall. Despite the children’s attempts to intervene and protect their mother, the man continued the brutal attack, leaving her injured and bleeding on the floor.

The Haifa District Attorney's Office filed the indictment on Thursday at the Haifa Magistrate's Court. The suspect has been held in custody since the arrest, with his detention extended several times during the investigation. Authorities have also requested to keep him in custody until the conclusion of the legal proceedings. Police officers from the Haifa station responded promptly to the scene and arrested the man immediately after the assault.

This case highlights a severe instance of domestic violence witnessed by the couple’s minor children, who tried to stop their father’s violent behavior but were unable to prevent the harm caused to their mother.
