Spencer Weisz Signs One-Year Extension with Ironi Nes Ziona Basketball Team
Spencer Weisz, the 31-year-old guard, has signed a contract extension to remain with Ironi Nes Ziona for another season. This upcoming season will mark his ninth year playing in Israel's Premier Basketball League and his second consecutive season with the Nes Ziona club, located in the Shephelah region. Weisz joined the team last summer and concluded the previous season as the league leader in steals, averaging two per game, along with 9 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.
After signing, Weisz expressed his enthusiasm about continuing with Nes Ziona, praising the club's strong tradition and ambitious future goals. He stated, "I am excited to continue in Nes Ziona, a club with a great tradition and ambitious goals for the future, and I am happy to be part of its vision. I hope everyone is enjoying the summer break and ready for the exciting season ahead."
Weisz developed his basketball skills at Princeton University but was not drafted into the NBA. He then moved to Israel, where he has played for several teams including Hapoel Gilboa/Galil, Maccabi Ashdod, Hapoel Be'er Sheva (in two separate periods), Hapoel Haifa, and Hapoel Afula before joining Nes Ziona.
