Gemini in Google Chrome is coming to Israel, but for now only in English. The upgraded browser runs on Gemini 3.1, lets users summarize content, draft emails and create images from the side menu, and integrates with Gmail, Calendar and YouTube. In the first stage it will be available only in English, but it is expected to arrive in Hebrew later.

Google announced the launch of an AI-based version of Chrome in Israel as well, including “Gemini in Chrome” and a range of new features. The upgraded browser runs on the Gemini 3.1 model and will be available on desktop and iOS in English only for now, the company said. Gemini in Chrome is available to all Mac, Windows and Chromebook Plus users, and on Android devices it can be activated in other apps by long-pressing the power button.

The side menu allows users to summarize articles, generate quiz questions, request recipe adjustments or find pages they have visited before, without switching between tabs. In practice, chatting with Gemini in the browser is meant to shorten the browsing process itself. The browser also integrates with other Google services, including Gmail, Maps, Calendar and YouTube. Users can set meetings in Calendar, view location details, get outlines of YouTube videos, and draft and send emails directly from the side menu.

Gemini also remembers context from previous conversations and offers personalized answers based on connections to user accounts. Another feature allows Gemini to work on several open tabs at the same time, cross-check information and consolidate it into a single view, for example to compare products in one table. In addition, the Nano Banana 2 tool has been integrated into the browser for image design while browsing, by typing a prompt in the side menu.

Google said the models were trained to identify known threats such as prompt injection attacks, and that protective mechanisms were added that will ask for approval before sensitive actions, such as sending an email or adding a calendar event. According to the announcement, more capabilities will be added במהלך the year and the service will expand to additional regions and languages.
