Maccabi Tel Aviv Loans Defender Heitor to Hungarian Club Újpest for One Season
Maccabi Tel Aviv has officially announced the loan of Brazilian defender Heitor to Hungarian club Újpest for the upcoming season. Heitor, who joined Maccabi Tel Aviv in July 2025, struggled to integrate into the team and did not participate in the recent training camp. As a result, the club decided to loan him out while seeking a new foreign defender to replace him.
During his time with Maccabi Tel Aviv, Heitor made 36 appearances across all competitions, scoring one goal, and contributed to the team’s State Cup victory. He also played in 10 European matches for the club. Újpest expressed interest in Heitor and reached a final agreement with Maccabi Tel Aviv for the season-long loan.
This move marks a new chapter for Heitor as he aims to gain more playing time and experience in the Hungarian league, while Maccabi Tel Aviv continues to restructure its defensive lineup.
