Maccabi Tel Aviv Loans Defender Heitor to Hungarian Club Újpest for One Season
Maccabi Tel Aviv officially announced that Brazilian defender Heitor dos Santos will be loaned to Hungarian club Újpest for the 2026/27 season. The agreement between the two clubs was finalized after all terms were settled, allowing Heitor to leave Israel temporarily.
Heitor joined Maccabi Tel Aviv about a year ago and made 36 appearances across all competitions, scoring one goal. He played a key role in the team's defense and contributed significantly to their recent Israel State Cup victory. Additionally, he participated in Maccabi Tel Aviv's successful European campaign in the UEFA Europa League last season, appearing in ten international matches.
Now, Heitor will return to Hungary to help Újpest achieve their professional goals in the upcoming season. His loan marks a temporary departure from Israeli football as he continues his career abroad.
