Maccabi Tel Aviv Loans Defender Heitor to Hungarian Club Újpest for One Season
Maccabi Tel Aviv has officially announced the loan of Brazilian defender Heitor to Hungarian club Újpest for the upcoming season. Heitor struggled to integrate into the team and did not join the club's training camp, prompting Maccabi Tel Aviv to seek a new foreign defender to replace him. The Hungarian club showed interest and finalized the loan agreement with Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Heitor joined Maccabi Tel Aviv in July 2025 and scored one goal in 36 appearances across all competitions. He was part of the squad that won the Israeli State Cup and also made 10 appearances in European competitions for the club. The loan deal marks a new chapter for Heitor as he moves to a different league to gain more playing time.
