Israeli Police Deploy Large Forces to Secure Rabbi Amos Gueta’s Funeral in Netanya
Thousands are expected to attend the funeral of Rabbi Amos Gueta, who was murdered earlier today in his home in Netanya. The funeral procession will begin at 1:30 PM and proceed to the veterans' neighborhood cemetery in the city. The Central District police, led by the Netanya station, have completed extensive preparations to secure the event, maintain public order, protect attendees, and manage traffic along the route.
The investigation into Rabbi Gueta’s murder continues. A suspect, a man in his twenties from Netanya, was arrested following a manhunt conducted by Netanya detectives and the Sharon Crime Fighting Unit. He remains in custody and is being interrogated on suspicion of murder.
During the funeral, several streets including Degania Street, Rabbi Neria Street, and the cemetery parking lot will be closed to traffic. Police anticipate heavy congestion in the area and have urged the public to follow instructions from officers and inspectors, avoid unnecessary travel to the vicinity, and prepare accordingly.
