IDF Investigates Video Showing Palestinian Detainee Bound to Metal Frame in Gaza

Palestinian media outlets recently circulated footage allegedly filmed by Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) personnel in the Gaza Strip. The video shows a Palestinian detainee blindfolded and handcuffed, bound to a metal frame and a folding field bed with a rope. The IDF has launched an investigation into the incident but has yet to verify the authenticity, timing, or origin of the footage.

An IDF spokesperson stated that despite a thorough inquiry, the source of the video remains unidentified. The investigation is ongoing, and if the footage is confirmed authentic, the conduct depicted would violate IDF values and orders. The IDF emphasized that any confirmed wrongdoing will be addressed accordingly.

This development comes amid other recent security incidents in the West Bank, including a shooting and a complaint against a settler accused of attacking Palestinians, as well as an arson attack on a mosque near Ramallah with no suspects apprehended so far.
