Israeli Forces Kill Hamas Brigade Commander in Rafah

Israeli military forces eliminated Muhammad Fathi Abd al-Hai Abu Fakhr, the commander of the "Yabna" battalion in Hamas's Rafah Brigade, during an operation on Monday. Abu Fakhr had recently been active in recruiting new militants, overseeing their training, and working to restore the battalion's operational capabilities with the intent to attack Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) personnel.

Abu Fakhr was a veteran commander within Hamas and a senior figure in the military wing's logistics department. For approximately two decades, he played a key role in managing arms smuggling operations into the Gaza Strip. His responsibilities included directing the transfer of weapons and supplies critical to sustaining Hamas's military activities.

The IDF highlighted that Abu Fakhr's elimination disrupts Hamas's efforts to rebuild its forces and hampers their ability to carry out attacks against Israeli forces. This targeted strike is part of ongoing Israeli efforts to prevent militant operations originating from Gaza.
