IDF and Shin Bet Eliminate Hamas Battalion Commander in Rafah
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet security agency killed Muhammad Fathi Abd al-Hai Abu Fakher, the commander of Hamas's Yibna Battalion in the Rafah Brigade, yesterday. Abu Fakher was responsible for recruiting new militants, leading their training, and attempting to restore the battalion's operational capabilities to attack Israeli forces. He was a veteran commander within Hamas and a senior figure in the military wing's logistics department. For approximately 20 years, Abu Fakher managed and directed the smuggling of weapons into the Gaza Strip.
