IDF Announces Large-Scale Military Drill in South Hebron Hills
The IDF said a large-scale military exercise began a short time ago today, Thursday, in the South Hebron Hills area under the responsibility of the Judea Brigade. The drill, which was planned in advance as part of the 2026 annual training program, is expected to end in the afternoon.
As part of the exercise, there will be noticeable movement of security forces and many vehicles throughout the area. In addition, residents may hear gunfire and explosion sounds as part of the simulated scenarios being carried out on the ground, which are intended to mimic operational situations.
The IDF Spokesperson stressed that there is no concern of a security incident, and that the drill is routine activity aimed at maintaining and improving the operational readiness of the forces. The announcement was intended to prevent unnecessary panic among residents in Judea and Samaria.
